General information

  • Stimulates the secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). [1]
  • Binds with high affinity to CRF Receptor types 1, 2-alpha, and 2-beta. [1]
  • Ucn1 plays an important role in the peptide in adaptive responses of hippocampal neurons to potentially lethal oxidative and excitotoxic insults. [2]
  • Ucn1 acts in the brain to exacerbate acute liver injury through the sympathetic nervous system. [3]
  • Ucn1 maintains adequate nigrostriatal function in vivo, via corticotrophin releasing hormone receptors following a neuro-inflammatory challenge. [4]
  • Ucn1 arrests the progression of or even reverse nigral lesions in vivo. [5]
  • Ucn1 represses the ensuing hemodynamic and renal deterioration and concomitant adverse neurohumoral activation, thereby delaying the development of overt heart failure. [6]
