Details for messenger / hormone: IL-10

EndoNet ID: ENH00237

To link to the content of EndoNet use the EndoNet ID that is given on the detail pages in the format ENX0000, where X is a place holder for the type of the component (e. g. R for receptor or C for anatomical structure).
As URL for the linking append this ID to the detail page for this type of component.
For an hormone that would be:

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/hormone/ENH00000

It is also possible to use the search of EndoNet to link to the right detail page. The URL should look like

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/search/ENC00000
If the search pattern is unambigious the user is directed to the corresponding detail page.

General information

  • Interleukin 10 (IL10) is a powerful Th-2 cell cytokine produced by lymphoid cells that exerts its functions by inhibiting macrophage/monocyte and T-cell lymphocyte replication and secretion of inflammatory cytokines (IL1, TNFA, TGFB, IL6, IL8 and IL12). [1]
  • Adiponectin increases IL10 expression. [2]
  • Inhibition of IL-10-induced STAT3 activation by 15-deoxy-Delta12,14-prostaglandin J2. [3]
  • Interleukin-10 blocks atherosclerotic events in vitro and in vivo. [4]
  • Levels of IL-10, an anti-inflammatory cytokine, are also raised in the obese. [5]
  • Adipokines involved in inflammation (TNFa, IL-1b, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, transforming growth factor-b, nerve growth factor). [5]
