Details for messenger / hormone: PlGF-1

EndoNet ID: ENH00280

To link to the content of EndoNet use the EndoNet ID that is given on the detail pages in the format ENX0000, where X is a place holder for the type of the component (e. g. R for receptor or C for anatomical structure).
As URL for the linking append this ID to the detail page for this type of component.
For an hormone that would be:

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/hormone/ENH00000

It is also possible to use the search of EndoNet to link to the right detail page. The URL should look like

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/search/ENC00000
If the search pattern is unambigious the user is directed to the corresponding detail page.

Synonyms

  • placenta growth factor
  • PlGF-1
  • placenta growth factor 1
  • PlGF-131

General information

  • VEGF-A and PlGF-1 stimulate chemotactic migration of human mesenchymal progenitor cells. [1]
  • PLGF-1 is a potential regulation target for the control of diabetic retinal and macular oedema. [2]
  • Recombinant human PlGF-1(rhPlGF-1) increases granulocyte colony stimulating factor -elicited hematopoietic mobilization and provides a preclinical rationale for evaluating rhPlGF-1 in the clinical setting. [3]
  • PlGF-1 has a functional role for recruitment of osteoprogenitor cells in the course of endochondral bone formation or remodeling. [4]

      • Anatomical structure: placenta

      • Anatomical structure: colon

        • While the three forms are present in most placental tissues, only PlGF-1 is found in the colon and mammary carcinomas. [5]
