Details for messenger / hormone: IL-22

EndoNet ID: ENH00310

To link to the content of EndoNet use the EndoNet ID that is given on the detail pages in the format ENX0000, where X is a place holder for the type of the component (e. g. R for receptor or C for anatomical structure).
As URL for the linking append this ID to the detail page for this type of component.
For an hormone that would be:

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/hormone/ENH00000

It is also possible to use the search of EndoNet to link to the right detail page. The URL should look like

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/search/ENC00000
If the search pattern is unambigious the user is directed to the corresponding detail page.

General information

  • IL-22 contributes to the prevention of systemic inflammation provoked by lipopolysaccharide present in the blood of Crohn's disease patients. [1]
  • IL-22 induces acute phase reactants. [2]
  • IL-22 acts via a heterodimeric receptor complex consisting of IL-22R1 and IL-10R2. [2]
  • Due to their structural similarity, IL-19, IL-20, IL-22, IL-24 and IL-26 were combined with IL-10 in the so-called IL-10 family. [3]
  • IL-22 functions by promoting the anti-microbial defense, protecting against damage, and re-organizing non-immune tissues. [2]
  • IL-22 plays an important role in skin inflammatory processes and wound healing. [4]
