General information

  • Noggin is a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) antagonist expressed in Spemann's organizer. [1]
  • FGF18 represses noggin expression. [2]
  • Noggin, expressed in mature osteoblasts, inhibits osteoblast differentiation and bone formation. [3]
  • Bone morphogenetic proteins induce the expression of noggin, which limits their activity in cultured rat osteoblasts. [4]
  • Noggin-mediated antagonism of BMP signaling is required for growth and patterning of the neural tube and somite. [5]
