Details for messenger / hormone: IL-32

EndoNet ID: ENH00707

To link to the content of EndoNet use the EndoNet ID that is given on the detail pages in the format ENX0000, where X is a place holder for the type of the component (e. g. R for receptor or C for anatomical structure).
As URL for the linking append this ID to the detail page for this type of component.
For an hormone that would be:

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/hormone/ENH00000

It is also possible to use the search of EndoNet to link to the right detail page. The URL should look like

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/search/ENC00000
If the search pattern is unambigious the user is directed to the corresponding detail page.

General information

  • There are hints that IL-32 have an important role in the antibacterial defense and in inflammation [1]
  • Limited cleavage of IL-32alpha by PR3 enhances activities of the cytokine. [2]
  • It is recently known that IL-32 synergigizes with NOD1 and NOD2 ligand and so stimulate IL-1beta and IL-6 release in a caspase-1-dependent manner. [1]
  • Interleukin 32 plays an importat role in innate and adaptive immune responses. [1]
  • IL-32, a proinflammatory cytokine with four isoforms, induces IL-1beta, TNF-alpha, IL-6, and chemokines. [2]
  • It is even known that IFN-gamma stimulates the expression of IL-32. [1]
