Details for messenger / hormone: 20-hydroxy LTB4

EndoNet ID: ENH01000

To link to the content of EndoNet use the EndoNet ID that is given on the detail pages in the format ENX0000, where X is a place holder for the type of the component (e. g. R for receptor or C for anatomical structure).
As URL for the linking append this ID to the detail page for this type of component.
For an hormone that would be:

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/hormone/ENH00000

It is also possible to use the search of EndoNet to link to the right detail page. The URL should look like

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/search/ENC00000
If the search pattern is unambigious the user is directed to the corresponding detail page.

General information

  • administration of extremely low doses of 20- hydroxy LTB4 can effectively block inflammatory responses to LTB4 [1]
  • 20-hydroxy LTB4 selectively inhibited neutrophil chemotaxis to LTB4 and reduced the number of high affinity receptors for LTB4 [1]
  • omega-hydroxylated metabolite of leukotriene B4 in human neutrophils (by a specific cytochrome P450s (CYP4F) ) [1]
  • Elevated urinary concentrations are found in patients with Sjogren-Larsson syndrome [2]
  • binds to LTB4 receptors on neutrophils with 10-20 times less affinity than LTB4 [1]
  • 20-hydroxy LTB4 inhibits neutrophil responses to LTB4 [1]
