fight-or-flight response

The fight-or-flight response describes the general adaption to stress induced by external and internal stimuli and comprises both the hypothalamus and the adrenal medulla. Thereby, catecholamines like epinephrine and norepinephrine facilitate the immediate physical reactions associated with the fighthing or the fleeing.
