    • IFN-gamma binds to the IFN-gamma receptor binding subunit (IFN-gamma R1), a species-specific cell-surface receptor encoded on human chromosome 6. [1]
    • In addition to the binding subunit, an additional factor encoded on human chromosome 21. This additional factor has been designated as the accessory factor (AF-1) or second chain of the IFN-gamma receptor complex, IFN-gammaR2. [1]

      • Induction of CXCL11 by IFN-gamma is enhanced by TNF-alpha in monocytes. [2]
    • positive IL-12
      • 1000 U/ml IFN-gamma increased Il-12(p70) production 15-fold. [3]
      • Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans-LPS alone did not stimulate IL-12 production, a combination of A. actinomycetemcomitans-LPS and IFN-gamma significantly induced IL-12 production in monocytes. [4]
      • In the absence of LPS, IFN-gamma did not induce p70 or p40 production. [3]
    • negative IL-10
      • Both IFN-gamma and IL-4 inhibited IL-I0 production. [3]
