General information

  • Belongs to the seven transmembrane domain receptor family. [1]
  • SSTR2 was strongly colocalized with glucagon in 89% of alpha-cells. [2]
  • Two alternatively spliced forms, SSTR2A and SSTR2B. [3]
  • SSTR1-3 were colocalized in only a few delta-cells, and SSTR4 was absent. [2]
  • SSTR2 was found in 46% of beta-cells. [2]
