Details for receptor: calcitonin-receptor-like receptor

EndoNet ID: ENR00959

To link to the content of EndoNet use the EndoNet ID that is given on the detail pages in the format ENX0000, where X is a place holder for the type of the component (e. g. R for receptor or C for anatomical structure).
As URL for the linking append this ID to the detail page for this type of component.
For an hormone that would be:

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/hormone/ENH00000

It is also possible to use the search of EndoNet to link to the right detail page. The URL should look like

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/search/ENC00000
If the search pattern is unambigious the user is directed to the corresponding detail page.

Synonyms

  • calcitonin-receptor-like receptor
  • CALCRL
  • CRLR
  • CGRP type 1 receptor

General information

  • The lung showed intense CRLR staining over the alveolar capillaries. [1]
  • Within the digestive tract, staining was observed over the cells lining the excretory ducts of the parotid gland, over the epithelium of the fundic glands of stomach, endocrine cells of the duodenum and ileum and some myenteric ganglia. The kidney presented staining of the juxtaglomerular arteries, the glomerular capillaries and chief cells of the collecting duct. Within the endocrine organs, a strong CRLR-like immunoreactivity signal was observed over the Langerhans islets, and weak immunoreactivity in the Leydig cells of testis. [1]
  • CGRP-R, NPY-R, VIP-1R and beta2-R, but not SP-R, VIP-2R, PACAP-R, beta1-R and beta3-R, were expressed in osteoblasts as well as osteosarcoma cells. [2]
  • Immunohistochemical analysis of the cardiovascular system revealed CRLR-like immunoreactivity (CRLR-LI) in the endothelium of all blood vessels including large and small arteries, veins and capillaries, and in heart muscle cells and endocardium. [1]
  • Receptor for calcitonin-gene-related peptide (CGRP) together with RAMP1 and receptor for adrenomedullin together with RAMP2 or RAMP3. [3]

Binding hormones

  • CGRP1
    • The calcitonin receptor-like receptor (CRLR) mediates the effects of both calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and adrenomedullin (ADM). [1]
  • CGRP2
  • ADM2
  • ADM
    • Like CGRP, adrenomedullin’s vasodilatory effects can be inhibited by CGRP(8-37), which indicates that it too acts via the CGRP-1 receptor. [1]

    • Coexpression of CRLR with RAMP-1 generates a CGRP receptor, while coexpression with RAMP-2 generates an adrenomedullin receptor. [1]
  • calcitonin
