General information

  • Expressed in the placenta, lung, left and right heart ventricles, heart atrium, leukocytes and differentiated HL-60 granulocytes. [1]
  • PAF enhances its own receptor expression. [2]
  • In contrast to Gram-negative LPS, Toll-like receptors do not seem to mediate host-cell recognition of Gram-positive LTA. Instead, this function is served by PAFR [3]
