Details for receptor: Prokineticin receptor 1

EndoNet ID: ENR01347

To link to the content of EndoNet use the EndoNet ID that is given on the detail pages in the format ENX0000, where X is a place holder for the type of the component (e. g. R for receptor or C for anatomical structure).
As URL for the linking append this ID to the detail page for this type of component.
For an hormone that would be:

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/hormone/ENH00000

It is also possible to use the search of EndoNet to link to the right detail page. The URL should look like

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/search/ENC00000
If the search pattern is unambigious the user is directed to the corresponding detail page.

Synonyms

  • G-protein coupled receptor 73
  • Prokineticin receptor 1
  • GPR73a
  • G-protein coupled receptor ZAQ

General information

  • Receptor for prokineticin 1. Exclusively coupled to the G(q) subclass of heteromeric G proteins. Activation leads to mobilization of calcium, stimulation of phosphoinositide turnover and activation of p44/p42 mitogen-activated protein kinase. [1]

Binding hormones

  • EG-VEGF
    • The prokineticin receptor 1 (PROKR1) and the prokineticin receptor 2 (PROKR2) are able to bind PROK1 and PROK2 with similar affinities. [2]

    Influences

    • positive IL-11
      • In the present study, we report that PROK1 induces the expression and secretion of the cytokine IL-11 in cultured endometrial epithelial cells and first trimester decidua explants via the PK-1 receptor. [2]
    • PROKR1 localizes to the glandular and luminal epithelium, endothelial, and stromal cells in the functional layer of the endometrium [3]
